At the end of October, Sakata exhibited at Fruit Attraction in Madrid. This major international trade show for the fruit and vegetable industry attracts more than 70,000 professionals from 120 countries over three days.
This year, Sakata Seed Iberica organised the first edition of ‘Sakata Premios’, awards which aim to reward people involved in the promotion of a good diet and healthy eating habits.
On 24 October, four awards were presented:
· SEMILLA AWARD to Baladí Goiburu, one of the three finalists of the Bimi tapas contest between young talented chefs
• SAVIA AWARD to Martin Berasategui, an 8-star Michelin chef, in recognition of his track record in the catering sector
• SENTIDOS AWARD to Roser Torras to distinguish her work to promote and disseminate healthy eating in the media
• SABOR BIMI AWARD to Sergio and Javier Torres in recognition of their work to showcase and propagate the culinary use of Bimi.
Chefs, journalists, staff and customers enjoyed the ceremony and the tasting of the Bimi tapas and Sakata varieties on the stand.
